Call for Abstracts and Travel Grants

Call for Abstracts

JSPEN 2027 warmly welcomes abstract submissions from international participants.

Language:
Abstracts and presentations must be in English.
Submission Method:
Please download the Microsoft Word template below, complete all required fields, and submit it via email to the congress secretariat (jspen2027-ab@m.congre.co.jp).
Guidelines:
For formatting guidelines, including word limits, please refer to the instructions on the abstract submission form.
Presentation Format:
Please indicate your preferred presentation format (Oral, Poster, or Either). Please note that the scientific committee reserves the right to make the final format allocation.
Presenting Author Requirement:
The first author must be the presenting author.
Review and Registration:
All abstracts will be reviewed by the scientific committee.
If your abstract is accepted, you must complete registration for the annual meeting. Please note that travel and registration expenses are the responsibility of the presenter.
Notification:
Notifications of acceptance will be sent in early November.
Accepted presenters must complete their congress registration by the end of November.

Travel Grants

Travel grants of 100,000 JPY each will be awarded to up to 10 applicants with outstanding abstracts.

Note:
Any expenses exceeding this amount (including airfare, accommodation, and registration fees) must be covered by the applicant.
Eligibility:
Applicants must be under 45 years of age on the day of their presentation.

To apply, please check the appropriate box at the top of the abstract submission form.
Grant Provision:
If selected, the grant will be provided on-site during the meeting after confirmation of the applicant’s presentation.

Disclosure of Conflict of Interest (COI)

All presenters must disclose their Conflict of Interest (COI) status when presenting at the meeting. Please download the COI disclosure form (Microsoft Word) below, complete the required fields, and submit it to the congress secretariat (jspen2027-ab@m.congre.co.jp) along with your abstract.

Ethical Reviews

Research exempt from ethical committee review includes the following:

  • Non-research case reports involving 9 or fewer cases.

    Note 1: If the study is conducted for research purposes, ethical review is required regardless of the number of cases.

    Note 2: Informed consent from patients is generally required even for non-research case reports of 9 or fewer cases.

  • Research mandated by laws and regulations.
  • Research using publicly available, widely used samples or information of established academic value.
  • Research using previously anonymized samples or information (excluding new data analysis).
  • Research using previously created pseudonymized or de-identified information.
  • Research based solely on published articles, publicly available databases, or guidelines.
  • Research not aimed at obtaining knowledge contributing to the maintenance/promotion of health, or the prevention, diagnosis, or treatment of disease/injury.
    (Examples: Studies on improving health screening attendance rates, or research related to physician skills training and education).
  • Research conducted exclusively outside of Japan (such research must comply with the regulations of the respective country).
  • Microbiological analysis of bacteria, fungi, viruses, etc. isolated from the human body, provided the research does not directly relate to human health.
